WiN (Women in Nuclear) Canada is offering four $3,000 scholarships to support young women pursuing careers in the nuclear industry. The scholarships recognize students who actively highlight the industry's benefits through their studies and community involvement. Scholarship Categories: 1. Undergraduate Student – Enrolled in a university program with a demonstrated interest in the nuclear sector. 2. Graduate Student – Enrolled in a graduate program with a clear career path in the industry. 3. Technical/Trade Student – Enrolled in a technical college or trade school with nuclear industry aspirations. 4. Indigenous Student – An Indigenous woman enrolled in any of the above educational paths. Dear Members of Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics & Statistics, and Physics, I am writing to provide plans around the search for a dean for your new college if approved by Senate in June, followed by being launched by the university on July 1, 2025.   As you know, I am keen to prepare for a positive outcome at the June Senate and so I have worked with Laurie Arnott to draft the following schedule for the internal Dean search, should the vote pass: Activity -- Internal Dean Search Date Nomination Period – Search Committee Monday, June 9, 2025 Election Period – Search Committee Monday, June 16, 2025 Search Committee constituted Monday, June 23, 2025 Forum to gather feedback from Community Monday, June 9, 2025 Virtual Meeting with Provost Monday, June 9, 2025 Search Committee Meeting 1 - hybrid Wednesday, June 25, 2025 Dean Profile and Position Posted – Internal Search Friday, June 27, 2025 Search Committee Meeting 2 Monday, July 14, 2025 Short List of Candidates Identified Monday July 14, 2025 Memo to Community re shortlist and invitation to interviews Tuesday, July 15, 2025 In person interviews of short list July 21,22, 23, 2025 Feedback Period (2 weeks) Wednesday, July 23, 2025 - Wednesday, August 6, 2025 Search Committee Meeting 3 - final recommendation Friday, August 8, 2025 Dean starts their term Monday, September 1, 2025 While the timing appears tight, I feel this allows for the right balance of respecting Senate by not starting a process until Senate has voted (assuming positive), while also allowing the new college to begin advancing priorities during the fall term when significant advanced planning occurs. Dear CEPS community, As we continue to advance preparation and planning to bring forward to Senate in June a proposal to create two colleges from our current College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, I have formed two ad hoc committees. The role of these committees is to advise me throughout this process and help prepare the proposal for Senate.
