Dear Members of Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics & Statistics, and Physics,
I am writing to provide plans around the search for a dean for your new college if approved by Senate in June, followed by being launched by the university on July 1, 2025.
As you know, I am keen to prepare for a positive outcome at the June Senate and so I have worked with Laurie Arnott to draft the following schedule for the internal Dean search,
should the vote pass:

While the timing appears tight, I feel this allows for the right balance of respecting Senate by not starting a process until Senate has voted (assuming positive), while also
allowing the new college to begin advancing priorities during the fall term when significant advanced planning occurs.
I will therefore be seeking an interim Dean for the short period of time between Senate approval in June and announcing a new Dean in August.
