Hello, undergraduate students!
Please be advised that there is a last minute UTA posting that can be found on the UoG hiring portal (see here https://www.uoguelph.ca/sessional_ta/teaching-assistant) for CIS*3050. If you meet the required qualifications listed in the job posting, please consider applying!
This position will expire quickly due to the proximity to the beginning of the semester, and is currently set to expire at end of day, August 27th 2024. We cannot accept late applicants or applications by email.
Application Material If this will be your first time applying to be a teaching assistant, you will have to set up your profile information, which will auto-populate some of the fields in your application material. After that, you can apply to be a UTA for any course listed as a UTA work assignment. Clicking on the Posting ID (far-left column in the table located on the page linked above) will provide you with the full description of the job, as well as any requirements we are looking for in potential candidates for the position. Although we are only posting to hire for one position per course, we might need more than one person for each course, depending on enrolment rates.
When applying, please remember to include the following information:
* The application material (as noted in the postings at the link above) * Attach a PDF document that is a combination of both your resume and your unofficial transcript. Only one document can be uploaded with your application. * These two pieces of information, alongside the application material, will collectively be used by the Hiring Committee to assess your qualifications (academic and professional), competence, capability, skill and ability, and prior relevant experience, as per the Collective Agreement. * If you are applying for a position and have taken relevant courses outside of the University of Guelph or have been employed at a job related to the topics covered in the course, remember to include this in your application along with a short description of the course or job.
For any questions regarding the process, please contact Lauren King, the Instructional Support Coordinator for SoCS, at teachingsupport@socs.uoguelph.camailto:teachingsupport@socs.uoguelph.ca. Applications close on July 9th, 2024.
