Hi GWiCS,
A reminder about our event this week - the GWiCS Resume Toast is on Wednesday from 6:30 - 7:45pm! Like a roast... but nicer. Our SoCS co-op advisors will "lightly toast" a selection of your anonymous resumes and give some tips about what employers look for in resumes. Be sure to stick around for the Q&A at the end, where all your "burning" questions about job applications will be answered!
Thank you for all the great resume submissions we received - come out to the event to see if your resume was one of the lucky few chosen! ๐ค
We will be raffling off 2 x $25 Amazon gift cards as door prizes at the event ๐๐ This event is open to ALL computing students - so bring your friends!

Hi GWiCS!
Thanks to everyone who came out to our first meeting on Tuesday, so nice to see your faces! We attached the slides if you couldn't make it ๐
A few things:
* Our first event is coming up - the "GWiCS Resume Toast" is Wednesday Oct 7th at 6:30pm! Like a roast... but nicer. Our SoCS co-op advisors will be "toasting" some resumes and answering all your "burning" questions about job applications. Submit your resume to gwics(a)uoguelph.ca<mailto:gwics@uoguelph.ca> by Friday Oct 2nd for the chance to have it "lightly toasted" during the event. Please remove your name/contact info. This event is open to ALL computing students, with a raffle prize for attending!
* Our virtual GWiCS Study Sessions start next week! The first session is Wednesday Sept 30th from 5:30 - 7pm (we will alternate weekly between Tuesdays/Wednesdays). These are open to GWiCS members only. Drop in to hang out with us, study together, get homework help from upper year students, have some human contact, etc! Meeting link: https://meet.google.com/hgv-gxtx-ynw
* Looking for some extra hours of work? Please contact Dr. Rozita Dara if you're interested in this opportunity: Itโs National Philanthropy Day coming up in November, and we are brainstorming some ideas of what we can do with donors to Guelph. I was looking for someone we could hire to develop a simple puzzle for us? I was thinking about a beautiful campus photo flipped around and divided into squares, where a square is revealed with every correct question answeredโฆwhich leads finally to disclosure of full image.
Thanks for reading - have a great weekend!
