With the recent events in Europe, you may have questions and concerns around your cybersecurity. The Information Security team is closely monitoring the situation and are encouraging all members of the U of G community to remain vigilant to protect yourselves and the University by focusing on the cyber security fundamentals. We also want to remind the campus community that use of the University network is subject to the terms of our Acceptable Use Policy<https://ithelp.uoguelph.ca/policy/acceptable-use-policy>, and participation in any type of illegal or disruptive activity is a violation of that policy which can lead to serious consequences. Hello BCOMP Students, Fall 2021 Undergraduate Teaching Assistant (UTA) positions have been posted. If you are considering being a teaching assistant, please prepare a résumé and head to https://www.uoguelph.ca/sessional_ta/teaching-assistant. Application Material If this will be your first time applying to be a teaching assistant, you will have to set up your profile information, which will auto-populate some of the fields in your application material. After that, you can apply to be a UTA for any course listed as a UTA work assignment. Clicking on the Posting ID (far-left column in the table located on the page linked above) will provide you with the full description of the job, as well as any requirements we are looking for in potential candidates for the position. Although we are only posting to hire for one position per course, we might need more than one person for each course, depending on enrolment rates. Below is a tentative listing of all of the UTA positions that we will likely be hiring for: * CIS*1200*DE (Introduction to Computing) * CIS1250 (Software Design I) * CIS*1300 (Programming) * CIS*1500 (Introduction to Programming) * CIS*1910 (Discrete Structures in Computer) * CIS*2030 (Structure and Application of Microcomputers) * CIS*2430 (Object Oriented Programming) * CIS*2520 (Data Structures) * CIS*2750 (Software Systems Development and Integration) When applying, please remember to include the following information: * The application material (as noted in the postings at the link above) * Attach a PDF document that is a combination of both your resume, as well as your unofficial transcript. * These two pieces of information, alongside the application material, will collectively be used by the Hiring Committee to assess your qualifications (academic and professional), competence, capability, skill and ability, and prior relevant experience, as per the Collective Agreement. * Please ensure that you are indicating how you meet the required and preferred qualifications.
